Departing Dolphins: Archive Your Google Data

Dear Dolphins Leaving DoDEA,

As you approach the end of your time with us, we want to remind you of an essential step to take before departing from DoDEA schools.

Important Information:

1. Account Deactivation: Your DoDEA Google account will be deactivated 60 days after you leave the service.
2. Archive with Google Takeout: We strongly recommend archiving your DoDEA Google account data using the Google Transfer or Google Takeout process. After departing DoDEA schools, this ensures you retain access to your important files and information. You can save your archive to a personal Google account once the Google Transfer or Takeout process is complete.
   • How to Transfer Your Google Data:
     • Visit the Google Transfer page.
     • The transfer will copy GMail and Drive.
     • Follow the provided instructions to copy & transfer your data securely.
   • How to Takeout (Download) Your Google Data:
     • Visit the Google Takeout page.
     • Takeout will download all files.
     • Follow the provided instructions to download your data securely.
     • For assistance, refer to the FAQ section or call Google's toll-free number at 855-548-2777.

Action Required: Complete the Google Takeout process before August 1, 2025, to ensure you have sufficient time to archive your data properly.
