Naples Elementary kindergarten convoy: A journey through the alphabet!
On Friday, Oct. 4, kindergarten students at Naples Elementary School in Italy embarked on a colorful convoy of cars, each uniquely designed to represent a letter of the alphabet from A to Z. The event was a fun-filled morning that combined creativity with learning.
Excitement filled the air as students eagerly waited for the convoy to begin at 8:30 a.m., departing from the kindergarten wing as scheduled. Parents, family members, and school staff gathered in support, forming a vibrant spectator alley along the parade route in front of the school.
The convoy kicked off with Louise Lambertson’s class, featuring a spectacular airplane for the letter "A." The airplane, soaring down the route, set the tone for an exciting journey through the alphabet. Following were classes led by Roxana Moerscher, Shelly Simpson, and Shelby Rostad, with students parading cars that included an ambulance, a fire truck, a space shuttle, and even a Napoli car, each inspiring joy and excitement among the children and their families.
Cheers and applause echoed down the route as each student proudly showcased their creation, fostering a strong sense of community support.
Lambertson, one of the kindergarten teachers, said, “Our students have been working hard on Units 0 and 1 of the English Language Arts curriculum, reviewing the letters of the alphabet. This convoy has been a fantastic home-school connection project that has excited both the students and their families about the kindergarten experience.”
This memorable event not only highlighted the students' creativity but also reinforced their understanding of the alphabet in an interactive way. The teachers and students expressed their gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the Alphabet Convoy.
“We look forward to more adventures and learning moments together!” said Naples Elementary's kindergarten team.
