    Community News

    National Speech Language Hearing Month

For over 50 years, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) has sought to raise community awareness, knowledge, and understanding of the various communication impairments, including those of hearing, speech, language, and voice. The month of May is officially known as National Speech-Language-Hearing Month.  During this observance, we should focus on the needs of our students and community members with hearing, speech, or language impairment.  People with speech or hearing disorders can lead whole and productive lives with proper treatment.  The Naples Elementary School Speech & Hearing Specialists are always available as your resource regarding speech, language, and hearing skill development.  Join us in our efforts to enhance our knowledge and support towards speech and hearing skills within our school and our community as we promote National Speech-Language-Hearing Month in May.

Check out "Identify the Signs of Communication Disorders" with ASHA 2024 President, Tena McNamara.

    May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month.
Let’s help raise awareness every day!

1 in 3 parents of U.S. children agens 0-8 have had concerns about their child's ability to communicate.
